Raksha Bandhan

RAKSHA BANDHAN

Raksha Bandhan is also known as festive of "Rakhi".Raksha
Bandhan is one of the main festivals in Hindu religion. Raksha bandhan  basically a sacred thread of Rakhi is basically a sacred thread of protection embellishis frail of thread of Rakhi is considered as stronger than iron chains as it binds the most beautiful relationship in an inseparable bond of love and trusthed with the love and affection of a sister for her brother. This day is also known as Rakhi day.It is known to strengthen the brother-sister bond. It is celebrated by brothers and sister of all age.
Rakhi The Thread of Love

The brother-sister relationship is extremely special. The way they care for each other is beyond compare. One can never love or care for their friends as much as they love their siblings. The connection and bond one shares with brothers and sisters is simply matchless. No matter how much they fight with each other over trivial things when the time comes they stand by one another and extend their support.raksha bandhan essayको लागि तस्बिर परिणाम

The festival of Raksha Bandhan is observed as a symbol of
between brothers and sisters. The occasion is meant to
celebrate any type of brother-sister relationship between
men and women who may not be biologically related. On
this day, a sister ties a rakhi around the wrist of her brother
in order to pray for his prosperity, health and well-being.

Raksha' means protection and 'Bandhan' means bound.
Thus 'Raksha Bandhan' means the 'Bond of Protection'. The brother in return offers a gifts and promises
to protect his sister from any harm and under every
circumstance. This festival is also celebrated between
brother-sister belonging to distant family members, relatives
or cousins.

Janai Purnima

                          Janai Purnima

Janai Purnima is observed in the month of Shrawan. It is called Rakshya Bandhan as this festival observes the bond of purity and security.  This festival is celebrated by Hindus all over the world.

The Janai initiates the boy into manhood and commands them to devotedly follow the religion and the path of truth. The Janai must be worn every day of their lives after they listen their mantra from the guru during the Bartabandha.
Janai is regarded as symbol of body, speech and mind, and when the knots are tied the person wearing it is supposed to gain complete control over each of them.

This cord is changed if it becomes untidy or dishonored due to those acts which are forbidden by religion.  However, Janai must be changed without fail on Rakhsya Bandhan Day.
Janai Purnima is Sacred Thread Festival. On this day, Hindu men, especially the Brahmins and Chettris perform their annual change of Janai and all who celebrates this festival put a scared thread around their wrist.

Janai is a cotton string worn across the chest by Hindu male. This thread is only given to males during a long and  impressive religious ceremony called Bratabandhan. Almost all the religion has type of Bratabandhan, but known by different names. Bratabandhan is basically a formal process of accepting someone in the religion. In Nepal Janai Purnima in Newari is Kwati. This day is also called Kwati Punhi, where Kwati is a soup of different beans and Punhi means the full moon day. Newar people also put the sacred threads around the wrists which are to be taken off on the day of Laxmi Puja, another festival in Tihar.

In Janai Purnima Newar farmers offer different food items to frogs. Believing that worshiping the frog, who is considered an agent of the God of rainfall, by making offerings of different food items help to increase the production of crops.

 Gai Jatra

Gai Jatra is a festival celebrated in Nepal, mainly in Kathmandu by the Newar community. Gai Jatra is also called Sa Paru. This festival commemorates the death of people during the year andis generally celebrated in the month of Bhadra . The date is set according to the lunar Nepal Era calendar: it falls on the first day of the dark fortnight of the month of [Gunla].

Gaijatra 01.jpg
The Festival of Cows is one of the most popular festivals of Nepal. It is celebrated to diminish the sadness from the death of family members. During the festival, cows are marched in the streets. People also distribute food to others. The whole complex of Gai Jatra festival has its roots in the ancient ages when people feared and worshiped Yamraj the god of death. However, the ironic sessions synonymous with the Gai Jatra festival entered the tradition in the medieval period of Nepal during the reign of the Malla Kings. Hence, the present form of Gaijatra is a happy blending of antiquity and the medieval era.According to the traditions since time immemorial, every family who has lost one relative during the past year must participate in a procession through the streets of Kathmandu leading a cow. If a cow is unavailable then a young boy dressed as a cow is considered a fair substitute.

In Hinduism, a cow is regarded the most venerated among all the domestic animals. It is believed that the cow, revered as a holy animal by Hindus, will help the deceased relative's journey to heaven.According to the historical evidence, when King Pratap Malla lost his son, his wife, the queen, remained grief-stricken. The king was very sad to see the condition of his beloved queen. The king, in spite of several efforts, could not lessen the grief of his wife. To show his wife that death is a natural part of life, he called on people for a carnival if someone has died in their family. Many people came which showed the queen that it is not only her son had died somebody has died in every family in this festival.
